Are Employers Legally Required To Update Or Revise I-9 Documents?

Form I 9 2022 – Employers must reverify employee documentation whenever an employee’s employment authorization (EAD) or receipt expires. Reverification should be done not later than the expiration date for the authorization to work. The worker may be fired if their employer fails to update the authorization. Temporary work visa holders are advised to apply for an extension at least 90 days before the expiration date of their EAD.
